Cape Gas has a long-standing association in the “Liquid Petroleum Gas” Industry (LPG), with more than 36 years’ experience and sound knowledge in this field.

Cape Gas are registered members with the “Liquid Petroleum Gas Safety Association of Southern Africa” (LPGSASA).

As we are governed by the SABS, we work in accordance with the SANS Codes 10087-1 to 10087-7 and ensure full compliance with the Occupation Health & Safety Act (OHS ACT).

Our installers are all competent and adhere to all the SANS requirements.

Key members are registered with the LPGSASA as well as SAQCC. All our staff have their medicals done annually as per the OSH-ACT as well as annual Police clearances.

We offer the full spectrum of services in the LP Gas Industry, from installations in Residential, Commercial, Agricultural sites, to Industrial installations of Bulk Tanks, LP Gas Depots and Tank Farms. We also have many clients in the Hospitality industry.

Domestic / Residential Installations

Cape Gas is also very much involved with many residential installations in some of the major Golf Estates and other local estates in and around Cape Town and have been appointed as preferred installers for the majority of the top building contractors in the Western Cape.

We have been recently appointed as the Preferred Gas installer for Garden Cities developments in Sunningdale and Pinehurst.

We have done several exclusive and specialized installations in Clifton, Camps Bay, Fresnaye, Constantia and Bishops Court, as well as all along the Atlantic Seaboard on the one side and up the entire West Coast, from Milnerton, Sunset Beach, Blouberg, Parklands, Sunningdale, Melkbos Strand and beyond.

Appliance Brands

Although we do not supply certain appliances, our team of installers are familiar with most of the brands of appliances such as SMEG, BOSCH, CADAC, Whirlpool, Siemens, SYAM, Defy, Vent Free Fireplaces & Flue-less Fireplaces, as well as many other well-known brands including all Braai brands.

We do, however, supply and install quality Hot Water Heaters (Geysers), Paloma, DewHot and other brands.

CoC’s

As registered installers, we perform assessments on all installations and where they comply, we will issue a “Certificate of Conformity” (CoC). Where installations do not comply, we will recommend the course of action that is required for compliance; if accepted we will do the required repairs, pressure test the installation and issue a CoC.

All installations are carried out under personal supervision, where professionalism, honesty, safety and good ethics apply, in accordance with the SANS 10087-1 to 10087-7 (2024) Codes and municipal by-laws.

Drawing up of Plans

For the larger installations where plans are required, we work closely with the Fire Departments and will draw up the required plans for submission to Council together with our architects.

We do in-house shop drawings for clients that require them, outlining gas positioning and piping routes and where valves and regulators, etc. are to be positioned.

Leak Detection

We supply leak detection for all installations where required for early detection and automatic shut-off features. Stand-alone systems or linked to fire control systems for larger installations.

Suppliers

We are registered with most of the distributors for LP Gas fittings and supplies in SA.

We only supply and install SABS recommended and approved valves, fittings and appliances.
